I have been involved with dachshunds since I was a child in Davenport, Iowa. My piano teacher had a show quality Kerry Blue Terrier and encouraged me to take my Heidi to obedience class. She eventually earned her AKC Utility Dog degree, an amazing accomplishment for a dachshund at the time. That opened the door to shows for me and I eventually entered the world of conformation.
